Photo documentation
Photo documentation in JobTracker is a jobsite camera and record built into the crew's phone app. Crews shoot bursts of photos and upload them to the right job with a category in one tap, and a phase can't be closed until its required photos are in. You choose which photos customers see in their portal, filed under the phase they belong to.
Every screen in English and Spanish · Works on phone, tablet and desktop · Plans start at $495 a month
The problem
Sound familiar?
They're on a tech's personal phone, mixed in with his kid's birthday party. Some went into a group text, some never got taken, and the ones you do have don't say which phase or which day. When a customer disputes the work or files a warranty claim, you're scrolling camera rolls hoping someone got the shot.
Without a record, it's your word against theirs. You give credits you didn't owe because you can't prove the work was right before the drywall went up. And the customer who can't see progress keeps calling the office, because silence feels like nothing is happening on their project.
Where it costs you today:
warranty claims you settle because nobody photographed the work before it was covered
job photos that leave on a former employee's phone when he quits
update calls from customers that a few shared photos would have answered
What it does
Run the field
Tap the shutter as fast as you like, then upload the whole batch with a category in one tap. Documenting a site takes seconds, and every photo lands on the job.
Each phase lists the photos the crew must take. The app prompts at clock-in and clock-out, and the phase can't be marked done until they're there. PMs can override with a reason.
Mark up a photo, add a voice description, search the record and handle photos in bulk. The job's photos become useful evidence instead of a pile of unlabeled pictures.
Crews log the day, work through checklists and run task timers from My Day, right next to today's visits and site access notes. You get a complete record of each day on site.
Scan permits, receipts and paperwork on site with edge detection, corner adjustment and shadow removal. Multi-page scans save as one PDF on the job, with no extra app to install.
You choose which photos to share, and they appear in the customer portal under the phase they belong to. A Since your last visit summary greets customers with a gallery of what's new.
With JobTracker
What changes
The crew finishes rough plumbing and goes to clock out. The app reminds them the phase still needs its photos, so they take them before the wall gets closed.
A new helper scans the phase QR code posted on site and reads that phase's scope of work, with no login and no prices or customer details showing.
The homeowner opens the portal that evening, sees the day's photos under the right phase, and doesn't need to call the office to ask how it went.
Months later a warranty claim comes in. You search the job, pull up the photos taken before the work was covered, and answer with facts instead of memory.
If nothing changes
Every job without a photo record is a dispute you'll have to settle from memory, months after anyone can remember the details. The real cost isn't the camera. It's the credits, callbacks and arguments you can't win without proof.

FAQ
Straight answers
Do my crews need a separate camera app?
No. The burst camera, photo markup, voice descriptions and the document scanner are all inside the JobTracker phone app. Photos upload straight to the job with a category, so the record doesn't depend on anyone's personal camera roll.
Can a PM skip the required photos when it makes sense?
Yes. A PM can override the requirement, but has to give a reason. That keeps the rule firm for the crew while leaving room for the odd phase where a photo truly can't be taken.
Will customers see every photo my crew takes?
No. You choose which photos to share. Shared photos show up in the customer portal under the phase they belong to, so customers see real progress without every messy in-between shot.
What does the phase QR code show?
It shows that phase's scope of work to anyone who scans it, with no login needed. Prices and customer details never appear, so you can post it on site without worrying about who reads it.
Can my crew use it in Spanish?
Yes. Each person picks English or Spanish with one tap, and every screen switches, including My Day, the camera, checklists and daily logs. The customer portal follows the customer's own language choice.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $495 a month, with a discount when you pay yearly. Photo documentation is part of JobTracker, so your photos sit on the same job as the schedule, the costs and the customer portal.
