Employee management
Employee management in JobTracker is where a trades company sets up its people: roles and menu access for each person, the time clock and time off, assigned tasks with due dates, and a monitoring app for remote staff. Everyone sees exactly what their role allows, and owners of more than one company manage every team from a single login.
Every screen in English and Spanish · Works on phone, tablet and desktop · Plans start at $495 a month
The problem
Sound familiar?
Because nobody else can see the whole picture, or they can see too much of it. The foreman can't find the punch list, the new office hire can open the money screens, and the only person who knows who's off next Friday is you. Work gets handed out in passing and forgotten by lunch.
You didn't start a company to be its switchboard. When roles live in your head, people wait for you instead of acting, and good employees get frustrated doing work that doesn't fit them. You end up hiring to fill the hole you feel today, not the one that's really costing you.
Where it costs you today:
tasks handed out in a hallway that nobody owns by afternoon
crews booked on days someone already asked to take off
office staff seeing pay and margin numbers they never needed
What it does
Lead the company
Set each person as owner, admin, project manager, foreman, technician or payroll, then choose their menu access one by one. A see financials switch decides who can view the money.
Give a task to one person or several, with due dates and times, comments, dependencies and timers. Each assignee gets an email with the full details and buttons to open the task or the job.
Custom task fields cover text, dollar amounts, links, file uploads and dropdowns, and any field can be required. Save a task as a template, and workflow templates load the right tasks for each job type.
Crews clock in to the job, overtime follows your rules, and time corrections keep an approval trail. Employees request time off, and approved time off blocks the schedule so nobody gets booked while away.
The Windows and Mac app gives office and remote staff check-ins, screen captures while clocked in and idle auto clock-out. Field crews show on the map only while clocked in and opted in.
Blueprint, a separate Legacy Builder app, is a $5 assessment that shows what kind of work each person is built for. Its team map points to the seats you're missing and who to hire next.
With JobTracker
What changes
Your new estimator signs in and sees only the menus her role needs. The margin screens stay hidden because her see financials switch is off.
The foreman gets a task email for the punch list with every detail attached, opens the job from the button, and you don't have to chase it.
A tech asks for Friday off from his phone. You approve it in a tap, and the schedule won't let anyone book him that day.
You switch from your remodeling company to your roofing company with the same login and check both teams' clocked-in hours before lunch.
If nothing changes
As long as the org chart lives in your head, the company can only grow as far as you can stretch. Every hire stays a guess, and every day you take off is a risk.

FAQ
Straight answers
Can I hide job profit and pay from some employees?
Yes. Menu access is set for each person, plus a see financials switch. Money records like bills, subcontractor details, draws and prices can only be changed by the roles allowed to change them, so the right people see and edit the money.
I own more than one company. Do my people need separate logins?
No. One login works across several businesses, with a switcher. People link their own accounts, and their notifications and reports arrive from every business they belong to. You see every team without signing out and back in.
Does the remote-employee app watch people all day?
No. Screen captures are taken while the person is clocked in, and idle time triggers an automatic clock-out. It's built for office and remote staff accountability during paid hours, on Windows or Mac.
What is Blueprint, and do I need it?
You don't need it, it's optional. Blueprint is a separate Legacy Builder app that costs $5 per assessment. It shows the kind of work each person is built for and which seats to hire for next. Use it when hiring or reshuffling roles.
Does JobTracker handle payroll?
JobTracker prepares it. Hours and overtime come out payroll ready, with a Gusto integration, a payroll-ready export and an hours report for Wave Payroll. Your payroll provider still pays your people, from hours you didn't have to retype.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $495 a month, with a discount when you pay yearly. You can add extra user seats as the team grows, and Blueprint assessments are $5 each whenever you want them. A demo shows which plan fits the size of your team.
